About the Brewery

In 2015, Steve, Sarah & Drew Lutke founded Hop Lot with the goal of combining fresh beer with a northern Michigan backdrop, establishing our beer garden on the coast of the Leelanau Peninsula.

The story behind our name is simple: we’ve got a plot of land (a “lot”, if you will) where we can grow hops: a hop lot. Our team’s currently working on planting an on-site hop garden for guests to visit, allowing us to truly live up to our name.

For us, the experience of our brewery is just as important as the quality of our beer and food. We gave our unique outdoor beer garden an “Up North” twist, complete with campfires, assorted picnic tables, outdoor games, s’more roasting and more. Sit under the Northern Michigan sky in the beer garden, or enjoy one of our fresh brews in the tap room after taking a stroll through the maple and pine trees surrounding our space.
