Hop Lot is looking to fill beertender, beer server, bar-back, cooking positions IMMEDIATELY.  Please read job descriptions below and reply for job consideration.

Beer Tender/Beer Server

Hop Lot Brewing Company is arriving to the booming Michigan craft beer scene with a brand new taproom, ¾ acre beer garden and onsite hop garden located off of M-22 in Suttons Bay.  Our taps will consist of a rotating list of 10 hand-crafted beers brewed by co-owner Steve Lutke.  The taproom and beer garden will act as venues to showcase local musicians and weekly/seasonal events.

We are currently in the market for knowledgeable beer enthusiasts who are passionate about helping our guests experience the art, history and culture of craft beer.  From blondes to stouts, our beer tenders and beer servers will be comfortable explaining the process and ingredients used in making the beer and recommending styles to our guests.  During slow times and also periods of heavy traffic, our beer tenders and beer servers will offer exceptional customer service while adhering to company culture and policies as you will be the face of our brewery.  We want to make quality, fresh and consistent beer and encourage our family of employees to share the same values and hold us to it.

 

Job Responsibilities:

-Welcome each guest hospitably and immediately

-Provide the guest with exceptional product, equipment, event and local area knowledge

-Engage with guests (not just take their orders)

-Attend festivals

-Pour and serve beer properly

-Clean, Clean, Clean (behind bar, tables, floor, restrooms, kitchen, landscape)

-Adhere to company safety, sanitary, etc. policies and procedures

-Handle cash and operate the POS system

-Assist the head brewer

-Change kegs

-Contribute to company culture

-Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication

 

 

Job Requirements:

-Have a kick ass personality

-Be at least 21

-Be passionate about craft beer

-Ability to work in fast-paced environment

-Ability to communicate fairly and objectively with others

-Open availability (nights, weekends, holidays)

-Ability to multitask

-Customer Service oriented

-A leadership background with a team focus

 

Bar-Back

Job Responsibilities 

-Clear and clean tables

-Wash glasses behind bar

-Wash dishes in kitchen

-Sweep and mop taproom/brewery

-Change kegs

-Welcome each guest hospitably and immediately

 

Kitchen Prep

Job Responsibilities

– Assist our Executive Chef

-Prep foods prior to opening and during normal business orders

-Wash Dishes

-Clean Kitchen

-Run Food

-Cook Food

-Responsible for keeping kitchen stocked full of supplies and product
