Well after 21 months of drinking, dreaming, brewing, planning, laughing, crying, raising (money that is), inhaling/exhaling, architect-ing… NOW IT’S TIME FOR BUILDING!!!!!!!
This past week we brought out the gold shovels and started digging, and didn’t stop for 3 days! Well we wish we had that much endurance. With the help of a local excavating company, space was quickly made for our taproom, back patio and major portion of the beer garden. The framing and footings were installed on Friday with plans of laying foundation early next week. The taproom and beer garden are scheduled to be constructed relatively quickly with help from the entire Hop Lot crew lending our hands and building “prowess” (doesn’t hurt that our builder is Steve’s father in-law). The brewery production will be located in an existing structure and will undergo a quick and painless ‘face-lift’ starting next week in anticipation of a ‘Brewers Notice’ from the TTB in the next few weeks! This is all coming along quite quickly now and we couldn’t be more excited!
We’re also very excited to share our beer and hop garden plans with you (see below)! We want to thank Bob Dompierre of Old Mission Associates Landscape Construction & Management for his help in designing the beer garden! There were many considerations that went into the layout and feel it will be the perfect complement to the taproom. Trust us, it’s going to kick ass!
